Open Space Zoom
During the pandemic, Open Space had to adapt to do things differently, just like everyone else. Our Inland Empire chapter, which has now evolved into this new thing, began meeting on zoom for weekly Bible Studies and many people showed up. They told their friends about it, and soon we had a virtual community that spanned all over the United States. People from all over who didn't have progressive faith spaces near them found our little Bible study and just decided to keep coming back. Even though in person gathering is possible again, we continue to meet on zoom every week because we have built a community of young adults from all over that value the time we spend together enough to keep participating in the community.

We meet every Thursday at 7 pm to check in with each other and read scripture together. The way we do Bible study requires no preparation. We pick a book of the Bible to read together, and then make our way through it as a group, reading aloud and stopping when we have something to say about what we've read. We've got people who haven't really read the Bible before as well as seminarians in our midst, and we all learn from one another!
