Meet Our Lead Team!
Claire has been a member of Open Space since they graduated high school in 2017, and is so excited to help create Open Space community in North County as the Open Space Ministry Collective's first intern! They are super passionate about cultivating faith community, especially in the LGBTQIA+ community. They live in North County San Diego with their cat, Vinnie, and work as an educator at the San Diego Children's Discovery Museum. Claire likes to spend their time reading, cross stitching, playing DND, and hanging with friends!
Pastor Broghan currently leads the Open Space Ministry Collective. She also serves on the pastoral staff of First UMC Escondido and San Marcos UMC. In her many years of diverse ministry positions, Pastor Broghan has always been passionate about discipleship, justice, and helping others take their next most faithful step. She's grateful to be a part of the team helping the Open Space Ministry Collective take their next most faithful step. In her free time you can find Pastor Broghan eating ice cream, drinking coffee in the sunshine, hanging with her pup Maggie, or having conversations over craft beers!
Rebecca is passionate about creating meaningful faith community and was super excited to join our lead team. Rebecca has had experiences of churches that didn't value community and wants to make sure Open Space remains a place where everyone feels like they matter. She loves cows, dinosaur themed items, and espresso drinks. Rebecca is from Point Loma and is excited to go to graduate school for social work at SDSU this summer. If she's not at school or work, you'll often find Rebecca at the zoo, checking in on her favorite animals!
Justin has a background rooted in the united Methodist Church community. He is passionate about helping others and collaboratively fostering spiritual rediscovery. He is from the High Desert but now lives in North County and is passionate about fostering the Open Space community here. Justin spends his time learning as often as he can, exploring nature, working, and gardening. His favorite thing to do is spend time with his canine companion, Nebula!
